Crest publishes
Your first Crest lands within seconds. It starts provisional — once you have a few matches under σ, it firms up and shows up on the public ranking.

Your first few matches move fast.
New ratings start with a wide uncertainty band (σ). Each confirmed match narrows it — typically after 5 confirmed games your Crest stabilises and we drop the “provisional” label. Provisional Crests render in amber on rankings so everyone knows the rating's still settling.
